Meet Heather
I believe healing starts in the moments when someone feels truly seen – not fixed, not allayed, not rushed… just understood. Coming to counseling can take a lot of courage, especially if you’ve been carrying things alone for a long time. My goal is to offer a grounded, supportive space where you can show up honestly, sort through what’s heavy, and start building a life that feels more steady and more yours.
I’m a Clinical Mental Health Counseling practicum student, and I earned my undergraduate degree from UCCS in Human Services with an emphasis in Substance Use and Recovery. My background includes experience in recovery-focused settings, and I’m especially drawn to working with adults and young adults navigating substance use, trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, and big life transitions. I also care deeply about supporting people who feel overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or caught in patterns that don’t match who they want to be.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that you already have strengths – even if they feel buried right now. I primarily draw from person-centered and narrative therapy, along with trauma-informed, strengths-based practices and motivational interviewing. I also enjoy bringing in creative and expressive tools when they fit, because sometimes insight shows up in ways that aren’t’ just “talking it through.” Therapy with me is a place to slow down, get curious, and begin reshaping your story with more compassion, clarity, and choice.
