Hi, I’m Camila Tamarez! I’m a counselor in training who is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered to heal and grow. I know that taking the first step toward counseling can feel scary, and I want you to know that I’m proud of you for being here and taking that step.
I believe counseling has the power to help us better understand our stories, make sense of the experiences that have shaped us, and heal in the present so we can move toward a brighter future. My goal is to meet you where you are, listen without judgment, and walk alongside you as you work toward the life you want.
I take a person-centered approach to counseling and believe that you are the expert on your own story. Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing, recognize your strengths, and develop tools to help you navigate life with greater confidence and purpose. Whether you are experiencing anxiety or stress, going through a life transition, working on your self-worth, or looking for support in reaching your goals, I want to provide a space where you feel safe to be yourself.
I am an American daughter of Dominican parents, and my background has shaped my appreciation for the importance of culture, family, identity, and the experiences that make each person’s story unique. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Sociology and am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University. My background in sociology has strengthened my understanding of how relationships, family, culture, and our environments can influence our experiences and shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us.
I am passionate about seeing people heal, grow, and recognize their own strengths. Starting counseling is a meaningful step, and I would be honored to walk alongside you through that process. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. We can take it one step at a time.
